New Year's Eve Party

31 December 2016 08:38

What a delightful evening was had together at church on new year’s Eve.

We began at about 6pm and were welcomed with a delicious hot punch served with a smile.

We entered the main church hall where we had to figure out some word puzzles dotted about on walls, called ‘Dingbats’- a nice warm up exercise.

Other games followed, including ‘Train Station’ game where we had to rush, in as dignified a manner as possible, from one part of the hall to another, to find our next station. We tried carefully to avoid en- route collisions.

The games continued, thanks to our tireless games-master. We wrapped up a child in Christmas paper for a competition & were asked to wire a plug-thankfully we boasted at least one qualified electrician.

If by the end some of the adults were flagging, the enthusiastic children present easily made up for any shortfall in energy.

There was a lovely spread of party food for us all to enjoy and we did not need to hold back.

To conclude the evening at 9pm there was a word from our new pastor who reminded us to look back on past blessings & having done so, to face the future confident that God will keep us also through all our future days as we put our trust in Him.
